  1. Did HH put the chicken trick in his show as soon as it arrived? Reminds me of the Orson Welles story where HH admonished Welles not perform an effect until he practiced it innumerable times. That was when an assistant brought a just completed piece of apparatus into the dressing room and HH said “Great, I’ll put it in the show tonight!”

    • LoL! Almost immediately. He acquired the chicken trick while playing at the Shubert Alvin Theatre in Pittsburgh, PA and put it into the act at his next venue (Sep 21-26) The Shubert Theatre in Cincinnati, OH. That said, the effect was baffling, yet simple and relied on showmanship: “it is not what you do, it is the way you do it!
