TERROR ISLAND EXHIBITION

2020:

2019:

Houdini is now a permanent resident of Catalina Island.

“You’ll note the display features a video screen which plays the overboard box escape from the film. This footage is missing from the existing movie. It was uncovered last year by our friend Joe Notaro and it is not available to view anywhere else. So Houdini fans who visit the island get a rare treat! John Cox

2018:

Houdini returned in a special exhibition at the Catalina Island Museum called Houdini: Terror on Magic Isle.

The exhibition, which I was a consultant on, ran May 5 to Oct 7, 2018.

Saturday May 19th, 2018, the museum hosted a special screening of Terror Island in Catalina’s spectacular Art Deco Avalon Casino Theater at 1:00 PM. The screening included live musical accompaniment by Michael Mortilla and The Accompanists and a pre-screening performance by Magician Jim Bentley, who performed, among other feats, Harry Houdini’s famous straight-jacket escape.

First Fridays at the Museum offered a magic show on the Magic Isle.
