Last week, I shared the Vanishing Elephant Photo (with Milbourne Christopher) from an article to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of Houdini’s birth.
Today, I thought I would share the main article, Houdini Knew There Was No Escape From The Other Side, from my personal collection:
Thanks for sharing that clipping Joe! A fun read, and fun at catching the mistakes. HH didn’t give up performing in 1923 to devote himself to his crusade against frauds. The roped photo is from 1919 in Hollywood. Mary Pickford’s brother is I believe one of the guys throwing Harry into that pool.
You are most welcome. Mary Pickord’s brother would have been 4 in 1919; that said, I would love to know who is throwing Houdini into the pool; I did a post on that photo, here:

Oh sorry–Jack Pickford is in the other rope tie photos, not these two. Thanks for the link! It refreshed my memory! Those three guys tossing him in the pool could be part of the crew working on Terror Island.
Funny that photo of Christopher is credited as being Houdini himself. You know, if someone comes along who insists they’ve seen a pic of Houdini performing the vanishing elephant, this could be what they are remembering.
