Great stuff Joe! The film industry has always been big in Italy as in other Euro countries. Harry never performed in Italy. I don’t believe he ever visited either. A photo of HH standing next to the Coliseum would have been marvelous.
And after filming The Grim Game, it was reported that Houdini would do a tour of UK, France and Italy the last week in November. He actually left for the UK the end of December 1919, after filming Terror Island, but only made it to the UK and then Paris to shoot scenes later used in Haldane, before returning to New York.
Now THAT is interesting! I had no idea HH was offered a tour thru Italy in1903 and turned it down. For some reason, this beautiful peninsula didn’t interest him. He missed out on delicious panforte and tortellini.

Thanks Leo! Houdini turned down a tour of Italy with the Circus Carre in 1903; a photo would have been great.
