Today, I share the March 14, 1904 issue of The Daily Illustrated Mirror:
I found it interesting, that the Daily Mirror Representative, rapped open the police regulation handcuffs Houdini escaped from that day. And that the special handcuffs are the property of the Daily Mirror Illustrated.
Also of interest, we learn the name of the representative of the Hippodrome, but not the name of the representative of The Daily Mirror.
And we learn of the handcuffs being inspected.

Great stuff Joe! I love how the illustrator made Houdini as tall, or even taller than the other men on stage. The whole thing was a put on. A nice touch by HH to stubbornly refuse the challenge that night, and then caved in to reschedule it for later in the week.
Yes–the guys in that circle inspected the Tatlers later on. That’s why it had to be kosher, because they weren’t in on it. Only HH and the Mirror were in cahoots.
