“ME “By Houdini

Today, I share an article from my personal collection titled “ME” by Houdini. It appeared in the very rare Fragments’magazine dated 5th June 1920. Enjoy!

  1. Thanks for sharing! These self descriptive articles tell us much about the man. Rich parents? He doesn’t like to brag? Picking the pantry lock open to get at the pies makes the rounds again. It’s nice to be living in 2025 where we now know a great deal about him and can identify all of his autobiographical and bragging BS.

  2. This is great. I love the illustration.
This REALLY doesn’t sound like Houdini’s voice to me. I don’t think he wrote this. This sounds like it was written by an Englishman trying to capture an American voice.

  3. I don’t know what Houdini’s writing voice looks like. I need to see an example of his writing that he did without contracted outside writers. Gibson, Teale, Lovecraft, and others had their fingers in his literary pie. Maybe it’s in Conjurer’s Monthly.
