Last month I shared a 100 year old review [from the Feb. 14 1925 Magazine in my personal collection] of Houdini playing Zanetti at the Hippodrome Theater on February 9th, 1925.
Today, thought I would share a review from February 2nd,1925 found in the same magazine:
The reviewer called the Overboard Box escape the Submarine Mystery. That’s funny! Easier to do at the Hippodrome than off a pier in the Hudson River.
Calling the Overboard Box escape “The Submarine Mystery” may be unique to the Hippodrome. FWIW: Arthur B. Reeve wrote a story called “The Submarine Mystery”: https://harryhoudinicircumstantialevidence.com/?p=10017
