The Kansas City Post Wednesday September 8, 1915

I have finally tracked down and received a copy of the infamous Kansas City Post newspaper that I alluded to in my previous posts:

Below is the proof that Houdini Frees himself of a Straitjacket Suspended Head Downward at the Post on September 8, 1915 in Kansas City.

Kansas City Post Wednesday September 8 1915Special Thanks to the Kansas City Public Library for going back and digging through their archives one last time and locating this elusive article for me to share.

  1. Excellent, wish my local library was as efficient. Will have to spend half a day looking through microfilm myself soon !

  3. Hey Joe. It appears Houdini repeated his suspended straitjacket escape from the Post building in 1923. You can see film footage on the Kino DVD set. Trouble is, I have no date, but it would have either been the week of Jan. 22-28 or Oct. 15-21 as that’s when HH played KC in 1923. Think the good folks at the Kansas City Public Library would recheck their files for this? Unfortunately, the Post archive doesn’t appear to be online yet.
